Thank you for the warm welcome and support you have shown to the Coffee Shop since we opened in June 2025. We have been blown away by the positive feedback we have had and are delighted that the new space has been so busy. We are hearing that people are especially enjoying the coffee, which is wonderful as this is the result of a unique collaboration with Mr Coffee, who roasts the blends here on site.
The Old School Coffee Shop & Kitchen was launched to offer a new social space that allows people to meet and share a drink or food during the week and a place that could offer families a meal at weekends without having to leave the village. The project has been delivered with a grant and business loan from the Kent Community Foundation, a grant from the Dover District Council Rural Prosperity Fund and by a generous donation of kitchen equipment from SAGA. We are proud to have created 4 new jobs already and hope we can keep building on this to offer more employment opportunities alongside new services that the village community can access and enjoy. Our future plans include increasing the hours that we can open the main services but also offering Wedding, funeral and event packages using our Main Hall and working closely with local businesses.
We have been piloting different menus and opening times in the first three months and have enjoyed listening to the feedback and hope we have shown that we will try and meet the needs that we know about. Please note that, from October 20th 2025, the regular opening times will be:
Monday: Closed
Tuesday – Friday: 9am – 2.30pm. A full Brunch menu is available including weekly and seasonal specials.
Saturday: Closed
Sunday: 12pm-2.30pm. The Sunday Carvery menu (see the news item below)
